008 - CAFÉ CARACAS

In the heart of Barcelona, a café once woven into the rhythm of the local market has been reimagined as a contemporary space that preserves its authentic essence. The design bridges past and present through materiality, light, and a cosmopolitan sensibility that reflects the evolving spirit of the city.

The new Café Caracas retains the warmth of a traditional café, yet its atmosphere transforms throughout the day, textures, materials, and light shifting gently with the pace of urban life.

At its core stands the bar, the project’s sculptural and functional centrepiece. Its fluid geometry defines circulation and is clad in a porcelain surface with a beige base and soft, water-like veining, adding depth, warmth, and visual harmony to the space. Textured walls and a layered lighting scheme shape a Mediterranean palette that balances calm, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.
